Privacy Policy

A privacy policy talks about how information taken into a site is used by the company who owns the site. The most basic portion of a privacy policy talks about what the company does with email addresses and phone numbers that are submitted through comments or contact forms. If there is any means of gathering information on your site, you need to alert your users how that information might be used (not for resale for example).

There are plenty of internet resources which will give you the basics for a good privacy policy. You can then edit the policy to suit your company’s procedures.

We advise building this page based on the recommendations of the Better Business Bureau and governed by PCI compliance. There are usually 2 policies (Terms of Use and Privacy Policy) required, although some organizations have them combined into one organized statement.
